What Are Quilters Blogging About Today?

This pattern is one that I’m periodically asked for, so I’m happy to be releasing it today! The original version was pictured in my book, which contains a number of quilts/quilt designs that aren’t included as patterns in the quilt. This version is made with Christa Watson’s latest fabric lines, Gridwork and Good Vibes. Together, there is a great range of both colors and grays that make the quilt pop—I really like the way the negative space almost appears like a black-and-white photo with these fabrics!

For those of you who have my book (if you don’t have it, you should! Pick it up a signed copy here!), today I’m sharing a bonus pattern for a second quilt made using the templates from Jewel Drop.

Both Jewel Drop and this quilt are based on a traditional block called “Red Peony Buds.” For Jewel Drop, I used the disintegration technique to design the quilt; this one uses the technique of setting blocks in rows.
